Purchase Tickets

10:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Somewhere Near the Crossroads of Bastogne

Gamemaster: Walt O'Hara

Game time: 10 am to 12:30 pm

Title: Somewhere Near the Crossroads of Bastogne

Era: WW2

Scale: 15mm

Rules: What A Tanker!

Max players: 6

Description of game: This is lighthearted, fast running, dice heavy game, a small conflict near Bastogne, Belgium in December of 1944 is presented with a little what-if writer's license to make it a tanker meeting engagement.  In this scenario, elements of US Combat Command B (mostly Shermans) are notionally supporting the famous Glidermen of Bastogne (Company B, 1/401st Glider Infantry Regiment) versus the advancing spearhead of German Armor from the 2nd Panzer Division (mostly Panzer IVs and IIIs, some support vehicles).

The rules are WHAT A TANKER published by Too Fat Lardies.  What a Tanker puts the player in the commander seat in a World War 2 tank.  The rules are dice roll dependent, allowing the player to commit results to specific actions performed in a tank battle (like, Move!, Aim!, Shoot!). The rules are absurdly simple yet reward planning and quick thinking.  As WAT is a tanks only game, only armor are simulated, no infantry, artillery, or air support (so the famous glidermen /parachute company are abstracted).  Tanks die quickly but can be replaced or recycled-- so don't get too emotionally attached!
