Saturday March 25th, 2023, 7:15 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.
This spring, join The Army Historical Foundation (AHF) on their latest Battle Ride, "Angels of the Battlefield": Women in the Civil War. Walk the grounds of battlefields and explore area museums on a full day outing packing with military history and unique Civil War destinations.
AHF is partnering with the Loudoun Heritage Farm Museum to explore the many ways in which women experienced the American Civil War and their role during battle and on the home front. Join historians and heritage experts to discover stories on the Antietam battlefield, in the village of Waterford, and at the Loudoun Heritage Farm Museum. Your visit, to the Farm Museum, includes a special preview of their newest exhibit before it opens to the public. The last stop, The Winery at Bull Run includes a private tour of their large collection of Civil War artifacts paired with an optional wine tasting.
The Battle Ride begins and ends at the National Museum of the United States Army and includes transportation, snacks, drinks, lunch, entrance fees, guided tours, and a souvenir printed program.
Transportation includes a Charter Bus option to ride along with The Army Historical Foundation and fellow participants or a Bring Your Own Car option to drive yourself to each location.
Ticketing for this activity has closed. Please contact Kathleen Lugarich at kathleen.lugarich@armyhistory.org or at 703.879.0015.
This program is hosted by The Army Historical Foundation, the non-profit organization for the Museum's revenue generating operations and fundraising in support of the National Museum of the United States Army, and does not imply U.S. Army endorsement of the views expressed or the endorsement of any associated private and commercial entities.
